Xianming Shi attends TRB 2016 Summer Workshop in North Carolina

CESTiCC Assistant Director Xianming Shi attended the TRB Committees on Resource Conservation and Recovery and Geo-Environmental Processes Summer Workshop in Asheville, North Carolina from July 26-29. This workshop perfectly aligns with CESTiCC’s mission, and we are proud to be a sponsor of this event and Dr. Shi’s attendance. The goal of the Committee on Resource Management and Recovery is to develop and integrate proactive environmental management systems and sustainability within the field of transportation. The Geo-Environmental Processes Committee focuses on various interactions within soils and how those relate to the design, construction, operation and renewal of transportation systems.

Dr. Shi’s PhD student, Gang Xu presented a poster entitled “Environmentally Friendly Pervious Concrete with Fly Ash as Sole Binder”. Dr. Shi presented two posters: “Bio-Based Renewable Additives for Anti-Icing Applications” and “Water Absorptivity and Permeability of High Volume Fly Ash Mortars with Various Chemical Admixtures.”
