Joe Alloway at Alaska Academic Decathlon

CESTiCC outreach coordinator Joe Alloway recently attended the Alaska Academic Decathlon state championship event in Anchorage, Alaska. Academic Decathlon is a high school academic team event which challenges teams to study 10 different subjects. The subjects are art, music, literature, social studies, economics, science, math, essay writing, speech and interview. Joe had the opportunity to present CESTiCC, INE and UAF to the students and coaches throughout the event. He was also invited to serve as a guest judge for the essay, speech, and interview competitions. This year’s division one (large) winner was Lathrop, the division two (medium) winner was Hutchison, and the division three (small) winner was Craig. Congratulations to all the students who participated! We hope to see you in our labs and classrooms soon!
