The mining engineering program in the Department of Mining and Mineral Engineering offers degrees at the baccalaureate, masters, and Ph.D. levels. The program was one of the first degree programs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks when it was established in 1917. Over the decades, the mining engineering program has provided many top-quality mining engineers for the mining industry in Alaska and the world. The program offers small class lectures by first-rate faculty and provides hands-on laboratory facilities and an experimental mine.
