UAF helps to set up engineering school in Mongolia
CEM Mining and Geological Engineering Department Chair Rajive Ganguli, along with a group of six other professors from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, are leading an effort to establish an engineering school in Mongolia.
An agreement between UAF and the newly founded American University of Mongolia was signed this spring. UAF will be helping with the development of curricula and the design of classroom and laboratory space at the new university.
Most of the funding for this project will come from private-sector mining companies in Mongolia.
